The Cambrian Way is a remarkable and spectacular south coast to north coast walk across Wales from Cardiff to Conwy. Tony Drake, pioneer of the Cambrian Way, brought many years of experience as a footpath conservationist to the planning of this superb route for the discerning mountain walker and wrote the guidebook. In March 2012 Tony passed away but had facilitated the creation of the Cambrian Way Trust who have fully revised and published this new edition of the guide.
The route has been well researched to follow public rights of way or access land over mountain and moorland. It is a fine three week walk through scenically superb and largely unfrequented mountain country. This is a walk for the mountain connoisseur and requires good navigational skills and much stamina to complete its 275 miles and over 60,000 feet of ascent. There is, however, no need to worry about peat bogs, interminable styles, firing ranges, deer stalking and grouse shooting that beset some other trails.
